About Me

My photo
The photography team uses photography as a tool to enhance the multi-media ministries of the Berean SDA Church as it offers others a meaningful glimpse into the church’s character. Our Purpose is to use the creative avenue of photography to serve God by ministering to the church and individuals. Church Coverage Photography: The main goal of the Photography Ministry is to support the various ministries of Berean by taking pictures for people to enjoy. If a picture is worth a thousand words then Berean has a lot to say! The members of the photography team document the many events and activities the church puts together. We provide a visual history of where Berean has been. The pictures are available for everyone in the church to enjoy. The team's creative images are posted on Flickr.com, used in videos, on the website, Facebook and in printed materials.

"THIS IS MY STORY..."

ERIC GRACE
"I guess you could say it started in high school. I was becoming somewhat of a computer nerd and definitely NOT a member of the "IN" crowd. When the yearbook sponsor asked if anyone had used a camera before, I raised my hand since I had used my dad's brownie and Polaroid cameras. The sponsor said "Great!" and dropped a 35mm Pentax camera with two zoom lenses in my lap and declared I would be the assistant yearbook photographer. I was thinking, "What the heck is this?!?!?" Thanks to a schoolmate and lead yearbook photographer, I quickly figured out the basics of the camera and discovered my blossoming love of the craft. Unfortunately, most of my images couldn't be used in the yearbook. They were not bad images, photographically speaking. But, I also discovered that you can catch people in very unflattering positions when you have a zoom lens… Ah, well! ;)

After graduation from high school, I talked my dad into getting a 35mm camera and kind of got him hooked on photography as well. He took so many pictures of church members and friends that he was sometimes a nuisance. So, you see, I got it honestly! I also made another discovery in college. If you had a decent camera, girls would mysteriously gravitate toward you, smiling and posing! Hallelujah! After that, I ended up using his camera more than he did until I got a job and bought my own.

I've always liked speed. The vehicle didn't really matter, as long as it was fast. So when I bought my first motorcycle, I decided to merge two loves, speed and photography. After all, photographing models is great. When they are standing next to a nice motorcycle, its even better!

Fast forward many years, to the present. I'm married with three awesome, challenging, keep-me-on-my-knees-praying children. I'm still a speed freak, even though I sold my last motorcycle to finance my current camera. I'm still a computer nerd, cleverly masquerading as a Lotus Notes Administrator. I'm an even more passionate photographer and thanks to digital technology, I can merge all of my loves: photographing fast vehicles, models, my wife and children and manage them all on the computer! What joy!"

"THIS IS MY STORY..."

ENRIQUE COPELAND
Not much to tell. My name is Enrique Copeland. I'm employed with the Fulton County Government . I work in the Department of Information Technology as a Network Administrator. I'm married to the lovely Cynthia Copeland. Some of my hobbies include working out, roller skating, singing, traveling, and of course, photography. I've been into photography since the age of 18, and I have been trying to learn as much as I can in the area every since.
